Did You Know?
The Items tab in Power UX functions a little differently from the way it does in the Classic UI. There are various ways to add rows, there is no editable Details view, and the footers are smarter. Here is what you need to know about the Items tab in Power UX:
Adding a New Row:
- One way to add a new row is to click the + icon.
- If there are no rows (as shown above) or you have not yet selected an existing row, clicking the icon will add a blank row to the Items tab.
- However, if you first select an existing row (by clicking on it) and then click the + icon, the newly added row will be a copy of the selected row, for example:

- Another way to add a row is to select an existing row and then select New Item Like…. A copy of the selected row will be added.

Note: another way to add Items to a document is to copy them from another document. See KBA-01883 for more information.
Detail Fields:
Because there is no longer an editable Details view, any fields that were previously (in Classic) filled in only through Detail view must now be in the column grid. For example, if there is a Responsible field in the Details view in Classic UI, that Responsible field must be added to the column grid in Power UX. A System Admin can save document configurations for the whole site.
- Click the gear icon to get the Settings pop-up window.
- Find the field required and click its checkbox.
- Click the Save Site Settings icon.

- Users will now see the Responsible column in the Items tab.

Note: There is a Details view available from the three-dot row menu, which indicates the contents of the fields on your document, but this view does not allow input or editing.
Dynamic Totals:
If your Items tab has been configured to show totals at the bottom (see How to Add Item Footers), those totals will change depending on how your Items are filtered. (Of course, the total for all rows appears if no filter is used.) In the example below, the rows have been filtered by Quantity over 10. The total at the bottom reflects the sum of the 4 filtered rows and not the total for all 8 rows.
