Question:
My company recently switched from using the Classic UI in Spitfire to Power UX. I want to “Save File As” a certain Attachment file. I know how to do this from the options menu in Classic, but I don’t see this option in Power UX. I even tried the three-dot menu at the end of the row, but the option was not there. How can I save the file onto my computer?

Answer:
You can save the file onto your computer by downloading it first. When you click the icon in the first column, you are asked to choose whether to Edit the file (if the filetype is editable and you have permission to edit such files), View the file or Download the file. You would choose Download.

The file will be downloaded into your Downloads folder. You can choose to open the file and then save it on your computer/workstation. Or you could copy the file from your Downloads folder into a different folder on your computer/workstation.

Note:
While the file is on your computer/workstation, it has no link to the file on your Spitfire document. If you want changes made to this file outside of Spitfire to be seen within Spitfire, you would need to drag and drop the revised file (with the same filename!) onto the same Spitfire document’s Attachment tab. Your revised file would then become the latest version of the file seen on the document.
