Question:

The note fields on my Power UX document are too small. They don’t allow me to see much of the text that is within the field, without me maximizing the field.  Is there a way to make certain fields taller by default?

Answer:

Yes, if you have access to the UI Configuration tool. You can specify an MLRows option on TinyMCE edit fields to indicate how tall the text box should be.  The default and minimum is 2.

  1. Open the UI Configuration tool from the System Admin Dashboard.
  2. Filter for your Doc type.
  3. Filter for the correct part.  In Power UX, most TinyMCE edit fields are in the part Doc Body (P-UX).
  4. Filter for the specific field, for example, Note (Top).
  5. Edit the row (or copy and edit the row) by adding MLRows=n; in the Extended field, where n is the approximate number of rows you want for this field.  For example:

  6. Save your changes. Spitfire will apply the new height the next time the document is opened.

Note:

Once a TinyMCE text box is configured for height, it becomes responsive to the contents of the field. The text box may grow if the screen can accommodate the additional height required by the content demands. The text box will also shrink if the contents do not need all that room. for example:
