Question:
The note fields on my Power UX document are too small. They don’t allow me to see much of the text that is within the field, without me maximizing the field. Is there a way to make certain fields taller by default?

Answer:
Yes, if you have permission to access the UI Configuration tool. You can specify an MLRows option on TinyMCE edit fields to indicate how tall the text box should be. The default and minimum is 2.
- Open a document of the desired Doc type and click inside the note field that you want to configure. The name of the field will appear in the document footer.
- Click the “gear” icon to open the UI Configuration tool window.
- Edit the row (or copy and edit the row) by adding MLRows=n; in the Extended field, where n is the approximate number of rows you want for this field. For example:
– - Save your changes. Spitfire will apply the new height the next time the document is opened.

Note:
TinyMCE text boxes are responsive to the contents of the field. The text box may grow if the screen can accommodate the additional height required by the content demands at the time the document is initially rendered. The text box may also shrink if the contents do not need all that room; however, the text box will never shrink to show less space than the MLRows. Example:

You can also configure Power UX to dedicate more screen space to text boxes by changing your layout preferences through the Layout Preferences tool, also found at the bottom of your document.

The first slider indicates how much “white space” you want between fields on the document. The second slider indicates how much extra space you want for text boxes. You can see that the default on the second slider is “minimum”.
