Did You Know?

Whether your document route appears through a predefined route or requires manual entry, Spitfire in Power UX makes it easy to add one or more people to your route, provided you have the permission to do so. You can add a person by name or ID, or add multiple people by email. People that are recognized by Spitfire are added to your Route Detail tab and unknown names or emails will remain in the input field, so that you could add them to Contacts on-the-fly first.

To add a Contact person by name:

Note: names must be entered individually.

  1. On the input field at the top of the Route Detail tab, start typing the name that you wish to add. Spitfire will autofill the field with its best match.
    1. If the name is the one you want, continue with step 3.
    2. If the name is not the one you want, press the Esc key while in the field. This tells Spitfire to stop trying to autofill the field.  Type the name again.
  2. When the name appears in the auto-complete list, click on the name to enter it into the field.
  3. (optional) Change the Seq number if the default is not the one you want.
  4. Once the name is in the field, click the + icon to add the person to your route at the indicated Seq number. For example, the picture below will add Malcom Smith (V) to the Route Detail tab at Sequence 10.

To find and add a Contact person by company ID:

Note: IDs must be entered individually.

  1. On the input field at the top of the Route Detail tab, type the Vendor or Customer ID of the company to which the person belongs.
  2. Select the name that you want from the drop-down list that appears.
  3. (optional) Change the Seq number if the default is not the one you want.
  4. Once the name is in the field, click the + icon to add the person to your route at the indicated Seq number.

To add one Contact person by email address:

  1. On the input field at the top of the Route Detail tab, start typing the email address of the person that you wish to add. Spitfire will autofill the field with its best match.
    1. If the name is the one you want, continue with step 3.
    2. If the name is not the one you want, press the Esc key while in the field. This tells Spitfire to stop trying to autofill the field.  Type the email address again.
  2. When the name matching the email address appears in the auto-complete list, click on the name to enter it into the field.
  3. (optional) Change the Seq number if the default is not the one you want.
  4. Once the name is in the field, click the + icon to add the person to your route at the indicated Seq number.

To add multiple people by email address:

  1. (optional) Change the Seq number if the default is not the one you want. The same Seq number will apply to all people added to the route at once.
  2. Click on the input field and press the Esc key so that Spitfire knows not to autofill the field.
  3. (Option A) Type in the field, separating each email address with a semicolon. When Spitfire detects the semicolon, it knows that a list will be entered.
  4. (Option B) Paste a semicolon-separated list into the input field all at once. For example, type out markussmith@margieandsons.com; jsunderson@spitfiremanagement.com; kimab@spitfireconstruction.com; jay@spitfireconstruction.com; somewhere then copy all those names and paste them into the input field:
  5. Press the Enter key to finish your list and add the people with those email addresses to your Route.
  6. If Spitfire does not find a matching email address among your Contacts, it will indicate the number of unknown contacts not added to the route and will list one of the unknown email addresses on the input field, so that you could add that contact on-the-fly (see below).

To add a Contact On-the-Fly:

When Spitfire can’t find a match to the person or email address entered, it offers the New Contact icon. Note: if the icon is not enabled right away, click in the input field again.

  1. Click the New Contact icon.
  2. Enter the person’s full Name and other information if desired, then click the Add Contact button.
  3. Back on the Route Detail tab, click the + icon to add this new Contact to your route at the indicated Seq number.
