UI Configuration
-
The Extended Field

Update Considerations
Commitment Budgeting Mode
- What: The ProjectConfig | CommitmentBudgeting rules have been retired.
- Why: We are not aware of any client changing the defaults of this rule.
- Potential Problem: Your site actually did change the defaults of this rule as instructed in KBA-01397.
- Solution: Contact Spitfire Support for a newer approach.
Instant Save of Title (in Classic UI)
- What: In the Classic UI, the Title field has had a default of instant save. We have removed that default instant save.
- Why: The behavior was unusual for the classic UI and in fact bypasses workflow, limiting potential validations.
- Potential Problem: Your site relies on the instant save of the Title field.
- Solution: To mark individual document types for auto save, consider adding CSS=uiStoreValue; to the Extended field in the UI Configuration tool.
Switching from Power UX to Classic UI
- What: The option to switch to Classic that appears on Power UX’s blue sidebar now requires the SYS | Can Return to Classic Dashboards role capability to be used.
- Why: Some site administrators wanted a way to prevent users from switching to Classic UI.
- Potential Problem: For backward compatibility, this capability was added to the Everyone role in a recent build. If you do not find this capability in the Everyone role or if you remove the capability from the Everyone role, there may be users who need to go back to Classic who now cannot. The System Admin role still includes this capability.
- Solution: Review your company policy and give the capability only to those who should be allowed to switch to Classic UI from Power UX.
Flex Key Forms in Power UX
- What: Flex Key Forms in Power UX (such as the Create New Project popup) require the PART | Mask Maintenance (R) role capability.
- Why: This is an internal requirement from Webix (the JavaScript in which Power UX is written).
- Potential Problem: For backward compatibility, this capability has been added to the Everyone role in a recent build. If you do not find this capability in the Everyone role or if you remove the capability from the Everyone role, there may be users who need to create a new project who now cannot.
- Solution: Update to the latest build if you do not find this capability in the Everyone role. We recommend that you keep that capability in the Everyone role as it does no harm and may be required for more forms in the future.
