KBA-01090: Making an Empty Routing for a Document

Question:

Some of my documents do not need any routing at all.  How to I prevent them from showing up in the document creator‘s Inbox?

Answer:

If your standard operating procedures call for newly created documents of certain document types to not be in any individual’s Inbox, you can create an predefined route that specifies this.

  1. Go to the Routes tool on the Manage Dashboard.
  2. Add a new route.  Give it a clear name such as NoRoute.
  3. Do not add any routees in the Details for Selected Routes part.
  4. In the Rules for Selected Routes part, add a row for each Doc type and click the Auto checkbox (to check it).
  5. Save your changes.
