Default Filters for the Cost Analysis Detail Part in Power UX

Question:

I am using Power UX. My project’s Cost Analysis Detail part shows data filtered by Cost Code by default. Can I change the default to Account or even better, to show both Cost Code and Account, so I don’t have to change the filter each time I go to the Cost Analysis Detail part?

Answer:

Yes. The Cost Analysis Detail part is always filtered, usually by either Cost Code or Account as the default. It is true that while you are in that part you can change the filter as needed.

However, if you are a System Admin or equivalent and want to change the default for your users, you can do so through the UI Configuration tool found on the System Admin Dashboard.

To set the default for the Cost Analysis Detail part:

  1. In the UI Configuration tool, set the Doc type filter to blank and the Part filter to Project Cost Analysis Filters.
  2. If you want to filter by just Account by default, filter for the Item By Account, then add or edit the configuration row to add Default=1 in the Extended field:
  3. If you want to filter by just Cost Code by default, filter for the Item By Cost Code, then add or edit the configuration row to add Default = 1 in the Extended field.
  4. If you want to filter by both Cost Code and Account by default, add or edit both rows to add Default=1 in the Extended field. For example:
  5. Save your configuration.
  6. Click the Reload Configuration button.

When filtered by both Cost Code and Account, the Cost Analysis Detail part looks like this:

Note: if you users do not see the new defaults right away, have them click Ctrl + F5 to refresh.
