KBA-01460: TWAIN interface for Add Files

Question:

Where did scanner support in Add Files go?
Can I disable TWAIN detection in the Spitfire Add Files tool?

Answer:

We have TWAIN scanner support disabled by default becasue most people use network interfaced scanners these days. But you can enable TWAIN scanner support again.

In the Add Files tool, look for the toolbar button that looks like a shining button and select Enable Scanning from that drop down menu. The feature should stay enabled until the next update.

When disabled, Add Files will briefly display the following on the status bar

TWAIN disabled – no scanning

Additional Comments:

This fix is appropriate when the workstation receives the following error:

System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory.

This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
