KBA-01848: Requesting a Sync with My Accounting System

Question:

Sometimes I notice that my Spitfire project amounts (in Cost Analysis Detail or BFA for example) do not match the amounts in my integrated accounting system. Is there an easy way to force a sync between the two systems before I start investigating other reasons for the discrepancies?

Answer:

Yes, if you are on V23+ using Power UX.  We agree that sometimes the two systems can become out-of-sync, causing worrisome mismatches between Spitfire and some accounting system report. Therefore, having the two systems sync up should always be the first step to take.

To sync Spitfire and an integrated accounting system:

  1. Go to any project.
  2. Select Project Accounting Re-Sync from the project’s options menu.
  3. Click OK at the confirmation box.

Note: because the process happens in the background, you can work on other things in Spitfire while you wait.
  4. After 10-15 minutes, check your Cost Analysis Detail or BFA in Project Analysis mode to see if amounts now match your accounting system. You may need to create a new snapshot of BFA to get the latest correct amounts. (See Revised BFA Snapshots.)
