Question:
Our site syncs to the Cloud (see Cloud Storage Integration). When using Power UX, we notice icons in the Cloud column on the Attachments tab. They are all different. What do the different icons mean?
Answer:
The icons in the Cloud column offer information about that file’s cloud sync status. Icons 1 – 4 (as shown above) also allow you change or limit the sync direction for the file, through a pop-up window that appears when you click the icon. For example:
-
-
- Get Only = This file will come from and be updated only from the Cloud. (Correlates to icon 1 above.)
- Send Only = This file will be updated only in Spitfire and then sent to the Cloud. (Correlates to icon 3 above.)
- Get & Send = (Default) This file is bi-directional. Updates in either Spitfire or the Cloud will update the other. (Correlates to icon 4 above)
- Not Published = This file is in Spitfire only and will never sync to the Cloud. (Correlates to icon 2 above)
-
Above the buttons, the pop-up window indicates the last sync action taken or pending.
Icon 5 above does not allow you to change or limit the sync direction and indicates that the file will come from the Cloud only. Icon 5 appears when the file has been loaded into Spitfire from a cloud folder that was manually added. When a user creates subfolders in the cloud, any files placed into these files are catalogued by Spitfire in the “Get Only” mode and are automatically locked in Spitfire to protect against being updated. That is why the sync direction cannot be changed in Spitfire.
