KBA-01279: Customizing the SiteConfig.xml file

Question:

How do I create a custom siteconfig.xml file?

Answer:

1. In ICTool, use Tools| Edit SiteConfig.XML.
2. The file will open in NOTEPAD.
3. Carefully make changes.
4. Saving the file only updates ICTool‘s local copy.
5. Publish the site to distribute the updated configuration file and cause the IIS server(s) to reload the configuration data.

Additional Comments:

You cannot do this until after you have published the site at least once using the default siteconfig.xml.
