KBA-01522: MODI-OCR and Office 2010

Problem:

Several sfPMS features rely on Microsoft Office Document Imaging tools. (See Additional Comments section for a list).
The Office 2010 (and later) OCR components are based on “OneNote” instead of the “deprecated” Microsoft Office Document Imaging (MODI) tools and are not compatible with sfPMS. Nor is word on the street about them pleasant, so Spitfire Management will not be supporting the new Office 2010 OCR. You will need the imaging tools from Microsoft Office 2007.

We have tested that you can side-by-side install the MODI tools from Office 2007. You JUST need MODI, not all of Office.

Here are some screen shots; just be sure to point to the OLD office install to a folder of its own—not the default—and unselect almost every component.
