KBA-01041: ICTool Unable to connect to remote server

Problem:

‘The underlying connection was closed: Unable to connect to the remote server‘ error message appears when updating Spitfire.

Solution:

To test the Update Now connection in the Spitfire Install and Configuration Tool (ICTOOL.exe), enter the following URL in a browser:http://clients.spitfiremanagement.com:3280/sws/main.asmxYou should see a Site Update service page. This is the web site that the ICTOOL.exe connects to when updating your Spitfire application.

Additional Comments:

You can use a registry setting to force ICTool to use an SSL connection.Add a string value for the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARESpitfiresfPMSiConfigName the string SWSURL and give it the value https://clients.spitfiremanagement.com/sws/main.asmx
