Question:
Can I disable automatic budget revisions created for project Change Orders?
Answer:
Of course!
- Open the Rules Maintenance Tool on the System Admin Dashboard.
- Expand the Budget Config rule group.
- Add the UpdateTarget rule by selecting it from the drop-down, then clicking the Add New icon.
- Select Change Order as the Filter Value.
- Enter 0 as the Result Value.
- Accept that row.
- Add the AllowNoTargets rule by selecting it from the drop-down, then clicking the Add New icon.
- Select Change Order as the Filter Value.
- Check the Result Value checkbox.
- Accept that row.
- Save.
Henceforth, Change Orders created after this configuration will (by default) no longer post any budget revisions.
Additional Comments:
If you want to enable control on the Change Order so that some can target budget revisions, add the Budget Targets item to the Doc Detail – CO part using the UI Configuration tool (on the System Admin Dashboard). See also KBA-01176 for additional information about the BudgetConfig rule group, including how to configure Change Orders to post revenue but not expenses.
