Question:
How do I get my custom report to prompt for the project mask before running the report? Spitfire‘s Reports seem to prompt for the project using a default of % — but the report displays quickly without data.
Answer:
Specify Required! as the default for the pProject report filter. Spitfire initializes the report with the value ‘Required!‘, which will not match any data, but will change the report parameter to % before prompting the user.
Note: if the user has the My Settings “Track Projects” option checked, the report parameter is set to the most recently opened Project Dashboard instead of %.
Additional Comments:
The report runs once with Required! as the search criteria.
