Special bookmarks use advanced prefixes to do the following:

  • sort and filter line items
  • include computed values not sorted in the database
Some values or amounts are computed dynamically on the screen, and these values can be merged just like other data. However, you may want to compute values or amounts not already computed in the document. You can include new computed values in your template.

Since special bookmarks affect the entire Bookmark Template, they are usually placed at the end of the template or in an unused area and are hidden.

To format text as hidden:

  1. Highlight the text you want to format.
  2. Right click and select Font.
  3. Under Effects, select Hidden.
  4. Click OK.

If Word has been configured to show Hidden text, a light, dotted line will appear underneath.

To show Hidden text:

  1. Select File | Options.
  2. From the Display area, click Hidden text.
  3. Click OK.
