Our company has several Company Division IDs. How does Spitfire know which ID to set as the default on a new Project Setup document? Is it the ID marked as Main on the Company Divisions tool?
Answer:
No, although the “Main” ID could be the ID used, by coincidence. While one ID should be designated as Main on the Company Divisions tool, the ID used as default on a new Project Setup document comes from the Division ID indicated for the user who created the Project Setup.
For Example:
On this site, CAI (Contoso America, Inc) is marked as Main and there is a second ID of CCC.
When Chris Demo creates a new Project Setup, the default ID is CCC.
That is because Division CCC (Contoso Construction Inc) is Chris Demo’s Division ID.
Note: The Division ID on the Contact Detail either comes from an integrated accounting system or is selected when a new Contact is added to Spitfire.
