Question:
Some workstations display a “Cannot Start Application” dialog when I try to launch a Click Once application (like sfDash). The details say that it is the signature algorithm. How do I correct the Signature Algorithm problem?
Answer:
Short answer: Install .NET 4.5 on the workstation. We have learned that Microsoft Windows 7 machines that don’t have the full .NET 4.5 installed cannot process the signature of newer Security Hash Algorithm (SHA256). If these are Windows 7 machines that don’t have .NET 4.5, the best solution is to install .NET 4.5 or later. You can get it from Microsoft http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42643. Currently this is our only known solution.
